My movie scripts and novels are basically Historical Fiction. Autumn Winds Over Okinawa 1945 is historically correct in that my father, Chief Petty Officer Ken Mead was in fact stranded on Okinawa for almost two months. Jap Snipers were everywhere unwilling to surrender. Two major typhoons hit the island killing thousands of people and sinking more than 100 ships each time. Food was scarce since the 10th Army would not give my father and two other sailors any rations because they were Navy. He had to win food by playing poker with the officers every night. This was a story of survival after August 31, 1945.
The 23rd Psalm is not a bible story, but rather a science fiction story about a Jewish and a Christian group in Lake Tahoe during a comet collision with the Earth. The south pole melts flooding the world to the level of 6,000 feet above sea level. All the west coast USA cities are under water and everyone drowns but the two religious groups that were on retreats in the Lake Tahoe area are already at 6,000 above sea level as they flee to North Star mountain and Boreal Ridge 8,500 feet above sea level.
Eventually empty oil barrels wash onto the island shore where the Christians are living and they learn to make large oil drum rafts with sails to explore the islands that survived the flood. It is an amazing story of courage and spiritual powers.

The Junior High is a story about Kakiat Junior High in Spring Valley, New York where I taught as a secondary school teacher for 31 years. The politics, the sex, the free drug era, the civil rights movement all affected teaching in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
Jesus and John came about from my researching the Dead Sea Scrolls and noticing the similarity between Jesus and John’s teachings and the teachings of the Essenes. The Essenes were a Jewish political group that left the Temple in Jerusalem because of corruption and formed various communities around Judea as in the dead sea community, Damascus, and Mount Carmel. Funny how the bible completely forgets the Essenes who gave so much to the coming of the Messiah philosophy and the ideas the Jesus preached. The oral story of the Holy Family exists in Egypt to this day in the Christian Coptic church. The holy family spent four years wandering the cities of Egypt fleeing Herods Soldiers and creating miracles on the way.
