The first move of a series of murder mysteries and other mysteries starring Sister Angelina CIA Nun are being written.
Volume one is called, The Night is a Child, Usiku Ni Mtoto. A murder mystery in Africa. The story is based on a real event in 2014 in Burundi where three Nuns were murdered in their convent. Only one suspect was caught and jailed. The Vatican Holy See was not happy about the result.
Seeing a political favor the Vatican Holy See approaches the American CIA for a favor off the record. Could the CIA place a field agent in the convent in Burundi to discover what really happened to the murdered Nuns, Sisters of Mary from Palma, Italy.
Sister Angelina recently from the Sisters of Charity in Riverdale, NY is recovering from cancer treatments. She had served in Africa for 15 years in the Congo, Kenya, and Burundi as a teacher of children. Her cancer made her rethink her profession and she decides to look for a job in New York City as she decides whether to leave the order or not. She answers an ad for Civilian workers for the CIA in Washington, D.C. and is called soon thereafter by the CIA to come down to Virginia to interview.
Being able to speak Swahili, French and English and having experience working in Africa made Sister Angelina a perfect candidate for the CIA to hire as a field agent under special circumstances. After a shortened training course Sister Angelina is sent to Paris, France where phony papers an ID are created to make it seem that she is from France, not the USA.
Eventually she is sent to Burundi to join the other Nuns at the convent in Kamenge outside the capitol of Burundi.
